ESD chairs are often present in critical assembly and inspection areas, but they are rarely managed with the same discipline as flooring, wrist straps, or footwear systems.
Preparation
- Verify chair cleanliness and visible mechanical condition
- Use calibrated resistance measurement equipment
- Record area, chair ID, and environmental conditions
Measurement approach
Measure the relevant resistance paths defined by your internal control plan and the applicable test method. Keep the setup consistent between audits so trends are meaningful.
Documentation
Log measured values, pass/fail decisions, corrective action owners, and re-test dates. The goal is not just a number but a controlled maintenance process.
